Prof. Meiyu Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Academy of Geography at Hong Kong Baptist University and a research fellow at the Asia Energy Study Centre. She received B.Sc. in Management and M.Econ. in Environmental Economics, both from Renmin University, and Ph.D. in Geography from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was a visiting research fellow at Harvard University. She studies the environmental impacts of unconventional energy development, with a focus on the development of shale gas. As the first/corresponding authors, she published over 30 papers in Nature Communications, Joule, Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T), etc., and also authored a Springer-Nature Book. As a principal investigator (PI), she has received competitive grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) Early Career Scheme & General Research Fund, and the China's National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund. She is also a co-PI of the NSFC-RGC Collaborative Research Scheme. These fundings support her interdisciplinary, forward-looking research on techno-economic, environmental, and societal assessments of emerging energy technologies ranging from shale gas to novel photovoltaics.
郭美瑜教授,中国人民大学管理学本科、环境经济学硕士、香港中文大学地理学博士。现任香港浸会大学地理系助理教授,博士生导师,亚洲能源研究中心研究员。曾任哈佛大学中国能源经济环境项目访问研究员。主要从事非常规能源开发的环境效应与管理决策研究。以第一/通讯作者在Nature Communications、Joule、Environmental Science & Technology等国际知名期刊发表论文30余篇 ,并于Springer Nature出版英文学术专著1部。作为项目负责人(PI),主持香港研究资助局杰出青年学者计划、优配研究金、国家自然科学基金青年基金等,共同负责(Co-PI)国家自然科学基金委-香港研究资助局联合重点项目。获资助的研究方向包括:1)化石能源开发的甲烷排放精准监测;2)负碳技术与低碳转型;3)能-碳-水耦合关系;4)新型光伏的技术可持续性评估。
